Florida Catch Up!

Hello everyone! So I have totally failed at this whole keeping up with my Blog thing... Is anyone surprised? I hope not! LOL Well I have been here in Florida for about a month and a half and a lot has happened. I will try and nutshell it for you. I was assigned to work in Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Great Movie Ride. It is a really fun job! I am a tour guide. I stand up in front of people and talk as we ride along in a very slow moving tram. We travel through animatronic scenes of classic Hollywood movies including: "Mary Poppins" "Singing in the Rain" "Raiders of the Lost Ark" "Tarzan" "The Wizard of Oz" and many more! It is great because the scenes really come to life around you! (There is even a surprise visitor, but you'll have to call me if you want a better explanation of this). When I'm not being a tour guide I can be found loading guests onto the trams, opening the doors from pre-show, greeting and welcoming guests, or valet parking strollers. It is definitely a fun job! It's not always glamorous and perfect, but most of the time I love it! My coworkers are a lot of fun and I'm becoming more and more comfortable with them and I'm making lots of friends. I am very happy about this! It is so much fun making friends! When I'm not working (which isn't a whole lot of time... I usually work over 50 hrs in a week. My friend at work called me "the whore of GMR" because I am always there. LOL) I spend a lot of time at the parks because I can get in free! I'm working on doing everything before I get home. Disney World is so much fun! I also go to the Cast Connection Store, and Property Control. These stores are for Cast Members and we can get up to a 75% discount on merchandise! It is awesome! If anyone has a request for a souvenir just let me know! I'll bring it back for you! I do also do things that are not Disney related. There are lots of activities with the YSAs in my ward. I have made lots of friends there too! I love church! We have weekly FHE activities, and occasional regional activities. On Saturday we had a beach party at Daytona. It was really a lot of fun! There was this crazy storm that we watched come in. We could literally see it moving! It covered the entire sky in less than 5 mins. My roommates and I also do random movie nights and silly parties at our apartment when we can. A couple weeks ago we threw an Enchanted party where we watched the movie Enchanted and had all sorts of themed snacks that were based on the movie :caramel apples, sunflower seeds in a paper bag, corn dogs, "Apple Martini" (this was actually Cherry 7up, but it looked like it...). The other night we had a pizza party and invited several people over. It was fun! Even one of the guys I work with came! (Don't be getting any ideas... he's gay. Actually most of the guys I work with are. *Sigh* But they are all really nice guys, and they are a lot of fun. You can hardly tell they are gay.) On the home front...
  • Several of my friends have gotten engaged in the past few weeks!!! Including: Jess(My Best Friend!!! How does Bryce expect me to do my Maid of Honor Duties from across the country?!? LOL), Cara Harris(We go way back!), and Sam Purdy(My FHE brother). I'm beginning to think I'll be the only one left! LOL But my mom has already told me I shouldn't be getting any ideas... My dad wants me to wait for Travis or Seth, Britt wants me to wait for Stuart, and Amanda wants me to wait for Caleb, and my mom says I should just wait for someone who will treat me like a Queen. Phew... What am I to do! LOL
  • My brother has his licences and is terrorizing the streets!
  • My family says they miss me tons and can't wait for me to come home, and I whole-heartedly agree!
Well I think that's about it. I can't think of anything else to tell you about right now. Until next time! I <3 U!

More News From Florida

Ok so I'll pick up where I left off. Universal Studios was amazing! There were so many amazing rides and lots of adventures with my parents. It was a blast! If you want more details though you'll just have to call me because I don't feel like writing any more about it :) Today was the big day... Check in! I got all of my paperwork and filled some of it out. Then I went and moved into my apartment and met my new roommates. I am living in a place called Chatham Square. My roommates are: Anna- from California, goes to BYU and is a Bio-Chem major. She just finished her Freshman year. Amber- also from California (they didn't know each other before) she just graduated from BYU in Theater. and my room-roommate Bekka- from South Carolina, goes to BYU-I and is a History Teaching Major. **She loves LOST too!!! YAY*** Most of the day was just unpacking and organizing. We went to Wal-Mart where my parents bought me groceries and other necessary items. and we just got settled in. We had a welcome meeting where they told us all the rules and the business things we needed to cover. They also introduced us to the transportation system that we will be using. Tomorrow we will be testing it out as we take the bus to Casting where we will be assigned our roles and take care of all the employment related stuff. I can't wait to find out where I will be working! :) YAY!!! Just a random fun fact to tell you before I go to bed. My roommate bought a wireless internet router for our apartment and she named it BYU Princesses with the password of "the lost girls" cute huh! :) HAHA I thought it was pretty clever. Well that's all I've got time to write tonight. It is getting late and I need to get up early to go to out Casting meeting tomorrow. I love you all and I miss you! I will write more tomorrow when I have some free time! TTFN <3

Florida

Ok so... We'll see if I can actually keep up with this like I am supposed to. I know I haven't been very good at it in the past, but lots of people want to hear what's going on over here so I'll do my best. We arrived here in Florida last night at 8 pm Florida time. One of the first things we saw was a gorgeous sunset. It made me feel a little better about living here. The warm weather also helped a lot ;) The flights went pretty well. I got a little sick on the first one from SLC to Denver so we bought some Dramamine at the airport to help the 2nd flight go better. Well it totally knocked me out and I slept through almost the entire 3 1/2 hour flight. At least I wasn't sick though right! :D LOL We found our hotel without too much trouble and around midnight we went to bed. My mom pointed out that since that was really 10 pm Utah time it was probably the earliest I have gone to bed in about six years! LOL it is true! We got up this morning and enjoyed a delicious Contintental breakfast (haha ok so it wasn't that great, but at least it was free! ) Then we went to Universal Studios theme park. My parents decided we would do that since it's not very likely that Disney will be sending us there... they are competition after all! It was a blast! I really enjoyed all of the rides. First we went to the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster. It looked intense! Well we were standing there in line but we noticed that the line was moving really quickly and there was no one behind us in line. :( We found out that the ride broke and they were just letting everyone out. :( My mom and I rode a fun spinning ride (My dad doesn't like them because they make him sick) and then we went on Dr. Dooms Fall of Doom ride. It was like Blast Off at Lagoon, but a lot more intense, coming back after you shoot off and reach the top it abruptly starts going down and all of your insides feel like they were left at the top. That one was pretty cool, but the wait in line was really the most exciting. We were standing in front of this family of little black kids; they were hilarious! The one little girl was telling me about how her sister went to Prom last night and she looked very beautiful and she wore a "croissant" that her date bought her. LOL Then they were telling us how Dr. Doom was going to try and get us, but they weren't going to let him. The little boy said he would punch him in the face and the little girl said, "Yeah! Nobody mess with my Brotha from anotha Motha!" LOL At the top of the line after waiting for about an hour, we saw an exit and the little boy asked if that was the end. Of course being me I said, "Yep that was the ride did you have fun?" He got this really sad look on his face and exclaimed, "This ride Sucks!" HAHA we then explained that we weren't going through that exit, but that the ride was off to the side. This made him much happier. :) That was the most entertaining line I have ever stood in! Well there is lots more to tell, but unfortunately I am with my parents and no longer at college so I have to actually go to bed at a decent hour. Since it is now 11:30 they think it is bed time. :p LOL I will have to finish tomorrow! I hope you all had a fantastic Sunday! I <3 You all and miss you too! Until next time!

Wonderful Life!

Well I guess I'll post again. :) I hope all of you are doing well! I am doing Fantastic! My life is going pretty well. I am loving all of my classes this semester. My Student Development class is really helping me get organized and keep on top of my homework and stuff. I am really glad I chose to take it. I really like only having 13.5 credits. It is a whole lot less stressful! I don't know why I didn't figure it out before now! :) I have the greatest Best Friend in the world! She sure puts up with a lot. LOL funny story. So about a week or so ago I was in our bedroom and I heard Jess's phone ringing, but she was in the kitchen. I knew that it was her boyfriend so I just answered it and was going to take it in to her. Well he didn't know it was me that answered the phone so when I said hello he said, "Hello Beautiful!" I just busted up laughing. He was really confused, but we explained it to him later. LOL So we've kind of been joking about how Bryce and I are really dating behind Jess's back. Well the other day he called me to ask me a question about dinner that night. I saw that it was him calling and so I answered it and I heard, "Hello Beautiful!" Haha it totally caught me off guard for a minute, but then we laughed about it and said it would be "our little secret." Well of course you know that I can't keep anything from Jess, especially when it is as funny as this. So when she got home that night I immediately told her about our conversation. She thought it was funny, but pretended to be angry with him. It was venry entertaining to watch him try and talk his way out of it. LOL Sorry Bryce! That's just what happens when you are dealing girls as close as Jess and I are! :) I don't know what I am going to do without her this summer! Actually I don't know what I am going to do without anyone this summer! I have never lived more than 15 minutes away from my family, and I am so used to eating dinner with them twice a week! Living across the country is definitely going to be a huge adjustment. (Not to mention the fact that I will no longer have a magic hamper over there! OH NO!!!) But I am still way excited to be working at Disneyworld!!! It will be Magical! :) Well I think that is about all I have got to say today! Hopefully I'll remember to write again soon. Until next time! I love you all! :)

Emergency Room Visit

Hello everyone! :) Sorry it has been such a long time since I posted on here. To be completely honest with you I forgot about it for a long time. LOL sooo... It is now a new semester and I am way excited for it! So far I really like all of my classes. I am taking Ice Skating again, Student Development, Humanities (which is actually very fascinating), History (with Jess and Phil ), Biology (with Megan), and New Testament (with the best teacher in the world, and Jess is in there with me). I have a much lighter work load this semester so i don't think I will feel as overwhelmed as I did last semester. So I had an exciting adventure last night... I went to the Emergency Room for the first time in my life. I also got to experience quite a few other firsts. First IV (this was cool, except I didn't get to see him put it in. I forgot to look :( ), first CT scan, First time wearing a hospital gown, first time getting blood drawn, first EKG, and first time having oxygen (yuck this was the worst, those canulas are miserable). So yeah, it was quite the night. I was there from 9:30 until 1:45ish. Well I think that is about all. Until next time! :) I love you all!
